| The documents attached consist of a Whole Life Cost (WLC) Model which can be used to illustrate the possible costs, a WLC guidance document produced for school's but can be used for routine procurements, and Wakefield's risk log which addresses sustainability risks (a presentation outlining this approach has also been attached). |
The approach is now used by officers at Wakefield to identify any sustainability costs and risks associated with the desired outputs. Once identified, the risks are used to influence the specification production ensuring the resulting contract minimises or reduces these risks. |
This approach was developed through the work of the Sustainable Procurement learning Network's Wakefield Council arranged in Wakefield and Bristol. The members of the Networks have received a copy. In addition the presentation and risk log was made available following the Alternative Sustainable Procurement Conference hosted by Wakefield in July 2008. |
