| This website forms the interactive report section of a research project commissioned by ONE North East. The objective of the research is to quantify the economic impact of public procurement on the North East economy. It is based on the Input/Output model used by Durham Business School and also incorporates data and knowledge developed using Lm3. |
The tool enables the user to input changes in in annual procurement spend and the percentage spend in the region. The model then calculates the impact on the North east economy from 2007 to 2016. The output is displayed in terms of GVA and FTE's. All scenarios can be saved and downloaded as an excel file. |
This tool is intended for all users to demonstrate the importance and sensitivity of the public sector in the total regional economy. It is of value to policy and strategy makers as well as those within the public sector who are interested in maximising the use of public sector funding for social and economic impact through procurement. |
